Liver Disease Medical Support Team

What is Liver Disease Medical Support Team?

Okayama University Hospital serves as a central institution for liver disease treatment in Okayama Prefecture and has established a Hepatitis Consultation Center (*).
This center functions as a key contact point for inquiries regarding liver diseases from both local medical institutions and patients. A dedicated Liver Disease Support Team, comprised of a wide range of healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, clinical laboratory technicians, registered dietitians, physical therapists, dental hygienists, clinical research coordinators, and medical clerical staff—responds to these inquiries.

Most members of the support team are certified as Regional Hepatitis Supporters by Okayama Prefecture. This structure enables Okayama University Hospital to provide high-quality and appropriate care for patients with liver disease.

The support team holds regular monthly meetings to share the latest information from national and local governments, as well as from hepatitis information centers. These meetings also serve as opportunities to keep up to date with essential knowledge.
