The Graduate School of Health Sciences (Master's Course) seeks individuals who possess the following capabilities:

In order to foster highly specialized professionals with fundamental research abilities that can lead to expertise, we set the following Profile of Prospective Students.

In addition to basic knowledge and skills in health/medical care and related fields, we seek individuals from Japan and abroad who have the following attributes: sensitivity and a rich sense of humanity (Specialized Ability; Liberal Arts Ability); passion, spirit, and intellectual curiosity to solve problems (Implementation Ability; Inquiry Ability; Liberal Arts Ability); and cooperative and flexible thinking (Communication Ability; Liberal Arts Ability). We seek those who aim to contribute to activities promoting people's happiness and health, improve foundational research capabilities, and enhance their skills to play core roles in future teams.

Nursing Research Course

Genome Medical Scientist Course

【Specialized Ability】
Ability to apply foundational knowledge and skills in medical laboratory science to specialized domains. Acquisition of basic experimental techniques necessary for gene analysis, as well as fundamental knowledge of genes and tumor pathology. Possession of English proficiency necessary for learning.

Screening Policy of the Graduate School of Health Sciences (Master's Course)

In order to secure a broad and diverse range of talent, we implement multiple entrance examinations such as general admission, admission for working individuals, and special admission for foreign students.

Screening Method of the Graduate School of Health Sciences (Master's Course)

We measure various elements such as language proficiency and aptitude for studying at our graduate school through any or a combination of examinations, including written tests, oral exams, document reviews, and practical tests.

Screening Process

(1) General Entrance Examination: This examination broadly targets those who wish to go to graduate school. It involves a document review and academic tests (including written tests and oral exams, with practical exams for the midwifery course). The document review confirms the expertise acquired by the time of examination by multiple faculty members. Using health/medical topics and English texts, the written test assesses not only language proficiency, but also the ability to think critically and to express oneself clearly in Japanese. The oral exam evaluates knowledge and understanding about the specialized subject, as well as the candidates’ career plans by multiple faculty members. The practical exam for midwifery course involves practical tasks, evaluated by faculty members.

(2) Working Individual Entrance Examination: This examination targets those who are employed at the time of application and will continue to be so after admission. It involves a document review and academic tests (including written tests and oral exams). The document review confirms the expertise and career plans acquired by the time of examination by multiple faculty members. Using English texts on health and medical topics, the written test assesses language proficiency and the ability to think critically and to express oneself clearly in Japanese. The oral exam evaluates knowledge about the specialized subject, understanding, and career plans as a working individual by multiple faculty members.

(3) Special Entrance Examination for International Students: This examination targets those who do not have Japanese nationality. It involves a document review and oral exams. The document review and oral exams assessed by multiple faculty members cover language proficiency, expertise, career plans, and cultural adaptation required for schooling in Japan.
