On March 22, the Discovery Program for Global Learners (aka “GDP") held an online information session. A total of 20 high school students, parents, and high school teachers from both Japan and abroad participated in the event.
During the information session, the program faculty gave a general explanation of the program and its admissions process, followed by a roundtable with GDP students and Q & A. The session was a great success, with many participants asking questions about the admissions process, curriculum, and student life.
GDP is an international program established in October 2017 where students from all over the world, including returnees and graduates from high schools in Japan come together to learn by taking courses from a wide variety of academic fields while sharing their diverse cultures and experiences. The program aims to nurture students to be active on the global stage by encouraging them to design a unique program of study that emphasizes interdisciplinary coursework, rigorous academic training which culminate in a senior project, and sensibilities and skills acquired through liberal arts education.
