On February 26, a delegation from Hasanuddin University in Indonesia, including Vice Rector Adi Maulana, visited Okayama University and paid a courtesy call to President NASU Yasutomo and Executive Director MIMURA Yukari (Planning, General Affairs, and Evaluation). In addition to President Nasu and Executive Director Mimura, the meeting was attended by TAKASE Atsushi, Dean of the Graduate School of Education, MATSUMOTO Naoko, Director of the Research Institute for the Dynamics of Civilizations, and HARA Yuichi, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education.
During the courtesy visit, Vice Rector Maulana first introduced the ongoing exchanges with Okayama University and expressed the intention to further strengthen collaboration in the future. In response, President Nasu introduced the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s "Program for Promoting the Enhancement of Research Universities with a Regional Core and Distinctive Characteristics (J-PEAKS)" (administered by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science), and expressed the desire to advance exchanges in research and education.
Okayama University established an inter-university agreement with Hasanuddin University in 2007. Furthermore, in the 2024 academic year, in connection with a city-to-city collaboration project between Maniwa City and Makassar City, Okayama University is hosting researchers and others. This longstanding relationship led to the realization of this courtesy visit.
We hope that this visit will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen the exchange between Okayama University and Hasanuddin University.
