On November 4, Okayama University’s Women’s Basketball Club secured their promotion to the 1st Division with a victory in the promotion/relegation match held at Hiroshima Bunkagakuen University! Additionally, in the 2nd Division, MATSUI Mikiko (3rd year, School of Agriculture) was awarded the Best Player Award, and MURATA Hana (4th year, School of Education) was selected for the MIP Award.

The promotion to the 1st Division was determined through a series of matches during the 2nd Division regional qualifiers of the All-Japan University Basketball Championship held in September and October. The top two teams from each of the A and B blocks in the 2nd Division competed in a final league, and the top two teams from this final league, along with the bottom two teams from the 1st Division, participated in the promotion/relegation match. Our team won the 2nd Division A block and triumphed over Kurashiki University of Science and the Arts by a one-point margin in the promotion match, securing their spot in the 1st Division.

The Club set their goal of "promotion to the 1st Division" and worked diligently in their daily training. On the court after the match, the members of the club were filled with beaming smiles as they celebrated the achievement of their long-awaited goal. We look forward to the continued success of the Women’s Basketball Club as they compete in the 1st Division next season!
