On October 22, President Ji Yong of Harbin Medical University (HMU) in China, along with other members of the delegation, visited Okayama University's Shikata campus and paid a courtesy visit to Vice President for International Affairs and Alumni SUZUKI Takayoshi. From Okayama University, Vice Director of the Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences, OKAMURA Hirohiko, and other relevant faculty and staff members were present.
During the courtesy visit, Vice President Suzuki shared information about the history of exchanges between the two universities and discussed ways to further strengthen their collaboration. President Ji expressed a strong desire for even deeper cooperation between the institutions.
Before the meeting, President Ji and the delegation toured the Shikata campus. Following the courtesy visit, they held a meeting with students from HMU who are currently studying at Okayama University as part of the Okayama University-North East China Universities platform, ‘Graduate’ Student Exchange Program (O-NECUS).
Okayama University and HMU have maintained a formal partnership since 2006, and will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their exchange agreement in 2026. The university will continue to strengthen its international collaborations and promote the globalization of its educational and research activities.
