On October 1, Ewe Hong Tat, the President of Tunku Abdul Rahman University (UTAR) in Malaysia, and Gary Tang Kok Lian, the President of the Japan Graduates’ Association of Malaysia (JAGAM), visited Okayama University to pay a courtesy call to President NASU Yasutomo. The meeting was attended by Vice President for International Affairs and Alumni SUZUKI Takayoshi, Associate Professor INAMORI Takao (Institute of Global Human Resource Development), and TAMURA Megumi, Director of the International Affairs Division.
During the visit, President Nasu introduced Okayama University’s characteristics and international exchange initiatives. He also discussed the "Study in Japan Global Network Project in ASEAN", commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, which identifies Malaysia as one of the key target countries for promoting study abroad in Japan. President Ewe provided an overview of UTAR's unique features and student exchange programs, while President Gary discussed the connections between Okayama, Okayama University, and Malaysia, along with student exchange initiatives between the two countries. This led to a lively exchange of opinions regarding future collaboration.
This visit is expected to deepen the relationship between both institutions and enhance further exchanges.
