Okayama University’s Cheerleading Band has won a Silver Award at the 65th All-Japan Wind Instrument Competition, Chugoku Region!

September 05, 2024

On August 24, Okayama University's Cheerleading Band participated in the "65th All-Japan Wind Instrument Competition, Chugoku Region" held at the Shimane Prefectural Hall and won a Silver Award! Their participation in this competition was confirmed after receiving a Gold Award at the "65th Okayama Prefecture Wind Instrument Competition" held on August 4 at the Kurashiki Civic Hall, which led to their recommendation as representatives of Okayama Prefecture. They performed the required piece "Raise the Flag of Courage" and a free choice piece "The Seven Sorrows of Mary," filling the venue with their sound.

The band leader, YAMAMOTO Nene (3rd year, School of Economics), reflected on the experience, saying, "We practiced by sharing our ideas. During the performance, we were united in spirit and managed to give our best performance yet. I will never forget the satisfied expressions on the faces of the band members after the performance. This experience, including the practice sessions, has become a valuable asset for me. We will use this experience to further enhance our activities in the Okayama University’s Cheerleading Band."

Okayama University's Cheerleading Band regularly updates its activities on the Okayama University Alumni Association website. Please look forward to their future achievements!
