On September 25, Okayama University held its The Autumn 2024 Degree Conferment Ceremony at the 50th Anniversary Hall, where a total of 179 undergraduate and graduate students left the campus with a memorable experience.

At the ceremony, President NASU Yasuyuki conferred degrees on 3 valedictorians of the schools and graduate schools. He also conferred the Okayama University Kokusho Award to one student for her outstanding academic achievement and personality.

President Nasu delivered his ceremonial address in English, introducing two words as his take-home message: "FUEKI-RYUKO" and "OKADAI-LOVE". “We hope that you will be proud of what you have learned at OKADAI and what you have accomplished in obtaining your respective degrees. We wish you a lifetime of success, health, and happiness in your future with OKADAI-LOVE.”

On behalf of the graduates, Mr. NAKAMITSU Yuki from the Graduate School of Health Sciences ave a reply speech; “As I navigated through trials and errors, my supervisor and fellow students in the laboratory guided and supported me. Through discussions and collaborative research within our department, I had many eye-opening experiences and discovered both the joys and challenges of academia. I am once again deeply grateful for the invaluable encounters I have had during my time at Okayama University.”

After the ceremony, President Nasu personally visited outside the venue to take commemorative photos with the graduates, who were dressed in suits and formal attire of their respective countries. The graduates also took pictures with their friends, juniors, and families, and visited their laboratories to say goodbye.
