On August 8, MISIP Symposium, Certificate Ceremony, and Farewell Party were held at the Institute for Planetary Materials (IPM), Okayama University in Misasa, Tottori. At the symposium, after Assoc. Prof. KUNIHIRO Takuya, chair of the MISIP committee gave opening remarks, 10 internship students from 7 countries participated in MISIP presented the achievements of their research activities at the IPM over a period of about six weeks for each of the six research projects. At the certificate ceremony after the symposium, Prof. YOSHINO Takashi, Director of the IPM gave them certificates and memorial goods. IPM faculty and staff and graduate students attended the farewell party after the certificate ceremony
to thank the internship students for their hard work for 6 weeks and the internship students spent their last time at the IPM with smile. Lisa Vincent from Utrecht University said “I feel very lucky with the people that I was with. I enjoyed travelling around Japan with you guys a lot. Thank you Trishit for guiding me in this project and taking those places. I hope to come back sometime for travel, but maybe also for collaboration here at IPM.”
The institute sent off 10 internship students who completed the entire program with the hope that the small bonds established through the 6-week MISIP in Misasa, beyond the borders of Japan, will become a great link that will lead to the development of science in the future.
