From July 6 to 7, 30 members of Okayama University's Japanese Archery Club participated in the "72nd All Nippon University Kyudo Championships Individual Qualifiers" held at Okayama University's Japanese Archery Court. YAMAUCHI Tomoyuki (School of Engineering, 2nd year) secured a spot in the All Nippon University Kyudo Championships!
Approximately 5,000 athletes participated in this tournament, held at various venues across the country, and competed fiercely. The individual qualifiers consisted of a preliminary round and a secondary round. In the men's preliminary round, participants needed 1 hit out of 2 shots, and in the secondary round, they needed 4 perfect shots. For the women, the preliminary round required 3 hits out of 4 shots, and the secondary round required 1 perfect shot to advance to the finals. Mr. Yamauchi excelled by achieving 1 perfect shot in the preliminary round and 4 perfect shots in the secondary round, thereby securing his place in the All Nippon University Kyudo Championships.
Following this achievement, Mr. Yamauchi commented, " I was able to pass the preliminaries thanks to my fellow students who have been practicing with me, and to my teachers and seniors who have supported me. I will do my best to give a confident and impressive performance." We look forward to Mr. Yamauchi’s performance at the All Nippon University Kyudo Championships!
