Consul-General Kosol Satithamajit and Others from the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Fukuoka Visit Okayama University

On April 19, Consul-General Kosol Satithamajit, Consul Khemrutai Khemmarat, from the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Fukuoka, and Commercial Representative Pannee Suwantupinton from the Office of Thai Trade Representative Hiroshima, visited Okayama University and paid a courtesy call to President NASU Yasutomo. From Okayama University, Executive Director for Academic Affairs and Senior Vice President, SUGA Seiji, Executive Director for Regional co-creation and Venture and Vice President for Local Engagement MIMURA Satoshi, and Vice President for International Affairs and Alumni SUZUKI Takayoshi attended the meeting.

During the courtesy call, Consul-General Satithamajit discussed the importance of student and academic exchanges between the two countries, as well as the promotion of joint product development with Okayama University. President Nasu introduced the unique features of Okayama University and the university’s track record of exchanges with Thailand. Following this, there was an exchange of opinions on a wide range of topics including support for studying in Japan and promoting exchanges with the economic sector, including in Okayama Prefecture.

Okayama University is responsible for the ASEAN region under the "Global Network Project to Promote Study in Japan" commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and will continue to strengthen exchanges with Thailand.
